quality and energy policy
COMSAN is a family-owned company specialised in the production of toilet seats and bidet covers manufactured in both Duroplast and its own proprietary material, Versagrit® — a unique and original formula composed of 60% plant-based, organic, residual and recycled sources.
COMSAN’s Management is committed to establishing, maintaining and continuously improving an Integrated Quality and Energy Management System aimed at meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers, ensuring equal treatment and opportunities, complying with all applicable legal requirements, and minimising the negative impacts of our activities on society and the environment.
With the objective of promoting the efficient and sustainable use of natural resources, COMSAN drives responsible energy management across all its operations. To achieve this, the company implements energy-saving and efficiency measures, including the installation of solar panels at its main production facilities and the use of Energy Management Software (EMS), which enables real-time monitoring and optimisation of energy consumption, reducing dependence on high environmental impact energy sources.
In parallel, the company has developed initiatives to reduce the use of plastics in packaging and encourage the use of recycled cardboard, further strengthening its commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.
COMSAN firmly believes in continuous improvement as the driving force behind its growth and operational excellence. This commitment is embodied in its own management model, the Comsan Business System (CBS), which integrates efficiency, innovation and the digitalisation of production, operational and resource management processes. The CBS aims to strengthen the culture of continuous improvement, drive excellence and develop the talent of the people within the organisation.
Equal treatment and equal opportunities are also core values within COMSAN’s corporate culture. The company promotes diversity and non-discrimination in all areas, ensuring that race, gender, age or any other personal circumstance never influence business decisions.
In line with its social commitment and contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), COMSAN complies with SDG 5: Gender Equality through the implementation of an Equality Plan that promotes fair, transparent and equitable conditions in recruitment, promotion, training, remuneration and work-life balance.
Sustainability is a long-term strategic pillar within COMSAN’s business model. In this regard, Management declares its commitment to implementing and maintaining PEFC Chain of Custody requirements, certifying the sustainable origin of the wood used in the manufacture of certain toilet seats. This certification guarantees the responsible management of forest resources and the traceability of the raw materials used.
In 2024, COMSAN reinforced this commitment by obtaining SGS certification confirming that Versagrit® is composed of more than 60% natural-origin raw materials, strengthening its position as a benchmark for sustainable manufacturing within the sanitary sector.
Respect for the environment, energy efficiency and socially responsible development guide all strategic and operational decisions within the organisation. COMSAN’s activities directly contribute to the achievement of eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reaffirming its purpose of generating a positive impact on society and the environment.
This Quality and Energy Policy applies to the entire organisation and must be known, understood and embraced by all employees. Its purpose is to enhance the professional skills of the team, guarantee product and service excellence, promote energy efficiency and strengthen the culture of continuous improvement across all company areas.
To this end, the organisation expresses its commitment to the application of the following core principles, which form the foundation of our Quality and Energy Policy:
1. DEVELOP an excellence model adapted to the reality of our company, establishing customer satisfaction as a top priority through high-quality, sustainable and environmentally responsible products and services. This model integrates energy efficiency principles, responsible resource use and a commitment to sustainable innovation, contributing to COMSAN’s overall sustainable performance.
2. IMPLEMENT AND MAINTAIN an Integrated Quality and Energy Management System that promotes continuous improvement, ensures the achievement of strategic sustainability objectives and provides the human, technical and organisational resources necessary to guarantee its effectiveness and ongoing development.
3. COMMUNICATE this policy to all employees and interested parties, ensuring its understanding, implementation and public availability. In doing so, we foster a corporate culture based on quality, energy efficiency, social responsibility and environmental respect.
4. STRICTLY COMPLY with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as those established by our customers and other stakeholders, providing confidence, transparency and reliability in all our processes and relationships.
5. DEFINE specific, measurable and reviewable objectives relating to quality, energy and sustainability, aligned with the company’s strategy. These objectives will be periodically assessed to verify the effectiveness of the Management System and encourage continuous improvement in the organisation’s overall performance.
6. ENSURE the training, competence and active participation of employees in all aspects related to quality, energy efficiency, sustainability and continuous improvement. COMSAN promotes a participative and committed culture in which every individual contributes to the company’s responsible and sustainable development.
7. PROMOTE the efficient and sustainable use of energy and natural resources through:
- The analysis and monitoring of energy and environmental performance indicators;
- The establishment of energy improvement and emissions reduction objectives and action plans;
- Support for the procurement of energy-efficient and sustainable products and services;
- The design of production processes that optimise energy consumption and minimise environmental impact.
These actions are supported by our Energy Management Software (EMS), which enables the continuous monitoring and improvement of the energy performance of our facilities.
8. PROVIDE safe and healthy working environments by identifying, assessing and controlling occupational and environmental risks associated with our activities. The safety and wellbeing of our workforce are essential to ensuring sustainable and responsible development.
9. GUARANTEE the Chain of Custody of Forest Products, ensuring that the raw materials used in our products originate from certified and responsibly managed sources in accordance with the PEFC standard. To this end, COMSAN is committed to:
- Applying procedures that ensure product traceability and proper identification;
- Collaborating with suppliers that comply with PEFC standards and demonstrate environmentally responsible practices;
- Actively promoting the use of certified and sustainable raw materials among our customers.
10. COMMIT to full respect for fundamental human rights and public freedoms in all our activities, guaranteeing people’s dignity, equality and wellbeing. COMSAN rejects all forms of forced or child labour and promotes equal opportunities in recruitment, professional development, promotion and remuneration.
Furthermore, the company promotes gender equality (SDG 5) and diversity across all areas of the organisation, reflecting in its Equality Plan a firm commitment to providing a fair, inclusive and equitable environment.
