For us, sustainability is not just a development goal; it’s part of our DNA and one of the main values that defines how we operate at COMSAN. We are dedicated to continuing this journey by implementing the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle.
With this goal in mind, we work across all our processes, products, and services.
- 100% natural raw materials
61% of Versagrit®, the material we use to manufacture our toilet seats, comes from food and wood waste, as well as recycled sources. Recently, SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, awarded us a certificate confirming that 61% of the sources that make up Versagrit® are of natural origin.
Our toilet seats are 100% recyclable. Once their life cycle is complete, we can reprocess them and reintroduce them as part of the material for manufacturing new seats. The same applies to those that do not meet quality standards during manufacturing and must be discarded.
- Negative carbon footprint
We promote sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint by manufacturing 100% in Spain and vertically integrating all our processes, from the production of raw materials and components to the finished product.
Versagrit® is a material with a negative carbon footprint, as we use materials that reduce waste from the timber and food industries. We source raw materials from local suppliers to minimize the environmental impact of transportation. We have also installed solar panels in our production facilities to reduce CO2 emissions.
- Sustainable production process
During manufacturing, we reuse surplus material generated in the production process. We have machinery specially designed to collect this surplus and process it for reintegration into the production process.
- Eco-friendly packaging
We currently use only cardboard boxes certified under the FSC standard, ensuring that all production stages comply with prescribed standards and that the materials used come from sustainable forests. We have replaced polystyrene packaging with recycled cardboard protections, and the plastic bags for fixtures are made from recycled plastic.
- Lifetime product
Thanks to the properties of Versagrit®, we produce toilet seats that last a lifetime, due to their durability and resistance to yellowing or color alteration over time. This significantly helps reduce our environmental impact.
